C63000 Aluminum Bronze

C63000 Aluminum Bronze is a high-performance alloy with a composition of 5-7% aluminum, 3-5% nickel, and 1-2% iron. Combining aluminum and nickel into the alloy can improve its strength, hardness, and wear resistance; it is also known as AMS 4640 or Nickel Aluminum Bronze. C63000 aluminum bronze is perfect for marine and offshore applications due to its high strength, hardness, and wear resistance, as well as its outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater and other severe conditions. It also has a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and erosion-corrosion. It is resistant to alkali, non-oxidizing acids, phosphoric acid, and acid.

C63000 aluminum bronze may be machined and welded, and it can be heat treated to improve its qualities even more. Shaft sleeves, bearings, gears, valve components, hydraulic parts, and other applications requiring high strength, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance are common uses.

Formability of C63000 Aluminum Bronze

C63000 aluminum bronze has high-temperature plasticity and may be hot processed, hot forged, hot extruded, and hot bent. The thermal processing temperature ranges between 850 and 900 °C.

Weldability of C63000 Aluminum Bronze

C63000 aluminum bronze can be welded using standard welding techniques, but it is critical to use suitable filler metal and follow proper welding procedures to avoid cracking and other issues. C63000 aluminum bronze is suited for arc welding and contact resistance welding such as spot welding, spray welding, and flash welding, but not for tin welding or electroslag welding. While using gas welding, the flame should be controlled to be non-oxidizing.

Abrasion Resistance of C63000 Aluminum Bronze

C63000 aluminum bronze offers excellent wear resistance, particularly against abrasive wear. This makes it excellent for high-wear components such as gears, bearings, and bushings.

Corrosion Resistance of C63000 Aluminum Bronze

C63000 aluminum bronze is resistant to corrosion in the environment, freshwater, and seawater, as well as alkalis, non-oxidizing acids, phosphoric acids, and acids.

Heat Treatment of C63000 Aluminum Bronze

Heat treatment of C63000 aluminum bronze can improve its mechanical qualities. Solution annealing, which warms the alloy to high temperatures and then quenches it in water or oil, is the most frequent heat treatment procedure.
